Dear Friends, I finally got a chance to make a newer recording of this Ballade. I feel it is closer to my view of the masterwork than that earlier version from when I was young. The thematic transformations and pulse are much more natural. More importantly, the narration is uninterrupted from beginning to end, so it holds together much better. Also, I feel that this version is more vulnerable, which makes it more disarming, perhaps. Let me know your thoughts...
